Samples of drinking or surface water are taken in a clean glass or plastic bottle that has been previously rinsed three to four times with the same water. The sample quantity is maximum of 0.5 liters.
Food samples are taken in a clean glass or plastic container. The minimum amount of sample required for analysis is 3-5 grams or 5-10 ml.
An order form for the analysis of natural samples, foods, and technical objects can be downloaded here.
Blood and serum are taken in a medical laboratory (e.g. family doctor’s laboratories). Whole blood (5mL) is taken in tubes with heparin (green cap), and serum (1-2 mL) – in tubes without additives.
Morning urine (20-25 mL) is taken in tubes purchased in a pharmacy.
The hair 0.1-0.2 g is taken up to 3 cm from the scalp and placed in an envelope or plastic bag.
An order form for the analysis of biological samples can be downloaded here.
Samples with the order form have to be delivered to the TalTech Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology (Akadeemia tee 15, Tallinn). Digitally signed ordering letter has to be emailed.
